The shoe pattern making course is designed to provide participants with the technical skills required to create accurate patterns and prototypes for footwear. With a focus on traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques, this course prepares you for a successful career in the footwear industry.
A total of 10 weeks completely dedicated to the world of women, men and sneakers shoes, during which the Arsutoria methodology for technical design and pattern making from stylistic design – which calls for engineering activities in the classroom – will allow you to learn and master the techniques needed to develop the most important shoe models.
The course begins with lasts: the first and most important component of a shoe. From the flattening of the last, the base shell is created to prepare the model, and finally the different pieces/patterns with all the technical details useful and necessary for prototyping.
Students will work on pumps, sandals, lace-ups, ankle boots and boots for women’s shoes, derby, oxfords, lasted moccasins, laced-up ankle boots with side elastic for men and finally, as a sequence of complexity, students will land on the world of sneakers: top-lasted and Strobel constructions, knitted uppers, and the constructions underlying iconic models.
