Shoe making

Work in a real shoe sample room together with Arsutoria school lab technicians and learn how to actually manage all the different steps of shoe manufacturing: cutting, preparation, stitching, lasting and soling; a complete journey through mocassin, ballerina, derby, sandal, laced up sneaker with sidewall stitching, knitted sneaker with foamed outsole and running style.

Learn the art of shoe making starting from understanding materials, components and constructions to learning about pattern making to finally develop and complete your own pair of shoes.

We have created dedicated shoe making sessions for designers and newcomers who are passionate about shoe making and that want to understand how this product is technically built up. Five weeks fully dedicated to the shoe world and with a hands-on approach on sample making, a fascinating journey within different styles.

Students will follow an online 24/40 hours preparation coursework to absorb all main aspects of shoes prior to walking into the classroom/sample room to make the most of the 5 weeks in Milan.

Depending on the session of your interest the focus might be on traditional shoes: a ballerina, sandal and laced up and/or a leather made sneaker, cemented (board-lasted) with a rubber sole.

Students can decide to take the full 5 week shoe making course or just one of the standalone modules, based on your interests:
