Shoe design and shoe making

This path includes

Starting from proportion, perspective, and technical precision on paper, students work across the main shoe styles—pumps, Derby and Oxford, moccasins, sandals, boots, and sneakers—then move into Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and VizCom AI to turn hand-drawn concepts into polished renderings, experimenting with materials, sole constructions, and color combinations without losing creative momentum.

With design skills in place, students analyze international trends and brand case histories, then plan a collection framework: product categories, pricing, trend vs. volume balance, carry-over, and material or color variants—with particular attention to material choices that define footwear identity. The module ends with an individual collection project guided by Arsutoria professors.

Students work hands-on in a real shoe sample room with Arsutoria lab technicians, managing every stage of manufacturing—from cutting and preparation to stitching, lasting, and soling. The journey covers moccasins, ballerinas, Derby shoes, sandals, laced sneakers with sidewall stitching, and knit sneakers with foamed outsoles, bridging design vision with the technical skills needed to understand how footwear is actually built.
