It’s much more than an academic Master program; it is an industry-driven, product-based intensive program recognized worldwide by professionals and brands. It offers an in-depth, integrated educational experience covering every aspect of bag design and manufacturing, from classic artisanal techniques to advanced digital tools. Students develop a final project demonstrating their ability to blend creativity with technical expertise. Upon successful completion of each module students will be awarded a Diploma.

The Bag One-Year Diploma at Arsutoria School blends tradition and innovation, equipping aspiring bag designers and professionals with the skills needed to thrive in the industry. This prestigious program takes students on a transformative journey that fuses creativity with technical expertise.
Bag design classes – 15 weeks
We guide both beginners and those with a design background in developing a complete bag collection. The course starts with hand sketching and drawing of bags and their components, focusing on metal hardware design. It progresses to training in essential graphic design tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and concludes with an in-depth methodology for creating cohesive collections. Students will learn how to draw inspiration from trends, convey their concepts effectively, source materials and shapes, and transform their creativity into innovative projects.
The true leap happens when these traditional design skills merge with advanced digital technologies. AI tools are no longer just supplementary—they are becoming central to the design process, offering unprecedented capabilities in rendering, material simulation, and creative exploration.
At Arsutoria, this shift is embodied in our integration of VizCom AI into the bag sketching workflow. Students use the tool to convert hand-drawn sketches into refined digital renderings—experimenting with materials, bag constructions, and color combinations in real time. The process reinforces rather than replaces foundational drawing skills: a well-constructed sketch produces a stronger AI output, making technical precision matter more, not less. Students leave with fluency in a tool already adopted across the bag industry, ready to contribute from their first day on the job.
Our course culminates in a hands-on project where you will learn the essential tools and methodologies to build your own bag collection. This part of the program aims at developing a bag collection, adding a perspective on marketing, customers, brand values, positioning and products.
With the rise of technology in the fashion industry, mastering 3D design is essential. We teach CLO for Bag 3D design and Rhino for 3D modelling of components like buckles, handles, and ornaments.
Rhino-modeled hardware can be brought into photorealistic scenes alongside CLO3D bag bodies, giving students the ability to present complete, fully detailed product visuals before a single physical prototype is made.
With the rise of technology in the fashion industry, mastering 3D design is essential. Our program dedicates to teaching CLO for Bag 3D design and 3D modelling of components like buckles, handles, and ornaments.
Bag pattern making classes – 15 weeks
The subsequent 15 weeks focus on equipping you with the essential technical skills to design and prototype various types of bags. The 15 week bag pattern making and prototyping path is a well-rounded training program that provides the tools to work and interact within the industry at any level.
The course provides an in-depth understanding of the materials and resources required for bags. Pattern making is only digital and prototyping aims at test pattern accuracy and feasibility.
Key features of this class include:
- Extensive sample room activities: hone your skills in a hands-on environment to understand the complexities of bag making in our laboratory
- 2D CAD Integration: pattern making is made via 2D CAD software, to improve precision and speed
- Comprehensive Exploration of Bag Styles: work on prototypes for diverse bag constructions, building a versatile skill set such as Tote bags, Hobo bags, Bucket bags, Briefcases, Backpacks, Satchels, Clutches and so on.
Final project – 8 weeks
In the final 8 weeks of the diploma, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your designs into reality.
Choose one of your creations from the initial Bag Design 15 weeks and develop it into a full prototype. Work together with expert trainers and sample room technicians at Arsutoria School to select materials and study the most suitable constructions, benefiting from their professional guidance.
This project will allow you to refine your design and prototyping skills and create a high-quality, market-ready bag.
