The Bag One-Year Diploma at Arsutoria School blends tradition and innovation, equipping aspiring bag designers and professionals with the skills needed to thrive in the industry. This prestigious program takes students on a transformative journey that fuses creativity with technical expertise.

Bag design classes – 15 weeks

We guide both beginners and those with a design background in developing a complete bag collection. The course starts with hand sketching and drawing of bags and their components, focusing on metal hardware design. It progresses to training in essential graphic design tools, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and concludes with an in-depth methodology for creating cohesive collections. Students will learn how to draw inspiration from trends, convey their concepts effectively, source materials and shapes, and transform their creativity into innovative projects.

With the rise of technology in the fashion industry, mastering 3D design is essential. Our program dedicates to teaching CLO for Bag 3D design and Rhinoceros for 3D modelling of components like buckles, handles, and ornaments.

  • Master the use of CLO to create dynamic 3D models of bags, enhancing both visual communication and design precision
  • Utilize Rhinoceros to model complex bag components and understand how to integrate these into your designs for a comprehensive 3D approach
  • Learn to create lifelike digital prototypes that simulate physical samples, providing a realistic view of your designs before they are produced

Bag pattern making classes – 15 weeks

The subsequent 15 weeks focus on equipping you with the essential technical skills to design and prototype various types of bags. The 15 week bag pattern making and prototyping path is a well-rounded training program that provides the tools to work and interact within the industry at any level.

The course provides an in-depth understanding of the materials and resources required for bags, developing them from traditional to digital pattern making to prototyping, to test pattern accuracy and feasibility.

Key features of this class include:

  • Extensive sample room activities: Hone your skills in a hands-on environment to understand the complexities of bag design in our laboratory
  • 2D CAD Integration: Most of the pattern making activities utilize 2D CAD software, to improve precision and speed
  • Comprehensive Exploration of Bag Styles: Work on prototypes for diverse bag constructions, building a versatile skill set as Tote bags, Hobo bags, Bucket bags, Briefcases, Backpacks, Satchels, Clutches and so on

Final project – 8 weeks

In the final 8 weeks of the diploma, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your designs into reality.

Choose one of your creations from the initial 15 weeks and develop it into a full prototype. Work together with expert trainers and sample room technicians at Arsutoria School to select materials and study the most suitable constructions, benefiting from their professional guidance.
