This extensive and intensive program responds to the training needs of those who want to maximize their education in the accessories field in a brief time by acquiring technical, design and practical skills that will be the starting point of their professional career. The approach of the program is practical so, not only students will learn every aspect of shoes and bags making: from design to pattern making but will also have the opportunity to deep dive into materials and therefore understand how to source them.
With a strong understanding of the production process, students will also have the opportunity to explore their creativity and will approach design starting from hand sketching and will also learn 2D rendering.
Shoe Design and Bag Design classes will simulate a collection development process so students will develop a mood board, complete sketches together with materials and colors, a merchandising plan to finalize the class by presenting their collection. The collection developed may be the starting point to launch the individual’s brand or a development of their portfolio.
After acquiring technical skills, students will work thoroughly with Italian artisans and technicians in our sample rooms producing their own pairs of shoes from sneakers to pumps and from sandals to laced-up and producing their bags such as Tote, Clutch, Backpack, Bucket or Boston Bag, Briefcase and will also work on Strip or Box construction, on top of their individual prototypes which will be entirely designed and developed by students.
The program offers a great balance between innovation and tradition as students will also learn the use of specific software for 2D and 3D modeling, achieving a microfiber prototype designed through these tools and cut with state-of-the art equipment: a real life simulation of what happens prior to getting into a shoe or bag sample room.
Arsutoria School strongly support students who wish to launch their own brand therefore dedicates an insightful part of the program to prepare startup projects in the footwear field addressing how to work with factories and how to approach their very first collections.
Visits to factories, show rooms and specialized trade fairs exhibitions will be organized to give a complete view of the accessories sector.
The program is thorough and students will be evaluated regularly on each aspect of the program in order to become self-conscious so to maximize their skills acquisition and above all to understand which profession within the accessories industry suit them best.
