A design competition promoted by Arsutoria and Micam Academy to foster the education of future designers and celebrate their creativity.
Formae Futurae invites emerging creatives to imagine the footwear icons of tomorrow, based on current market and fashion system trends. Participants are encouraged to design captivating products that reflect the evolution of style and contemporary fashion.

Launch your design career
Two winners - selected by a panel of industry experts - will be awarded a scholarship covering the cost to attend the 11-week Footwear design course at Arsutoria School and accommodation for the duration of the course in the Arsutoria Campus.
The course will run from September 1st to November 14th, 2025
Travel and meal expenses will be responsibility of the winners.
Arsutoria will provide administrative support to obtain the necessary documents to travel and stay in Italy for the duration of the course.
The decision of the jury is final and not subject to appeal.
How to enter the competition
- Choose one of the trends presented by Arsutoria at the Indonesia Fashion Week (slides available below)
- Create a moodboard illustrating the inspirations and aesthetic direction of the collection, in line with the chosen trend
- Develop a color palette that captures the essence of the trend and supports the overall concept
- Submit a material board outlining the key materials that would be used in the collection – materials may be existing, self-designed, or virtually created
- Design a capsule collection of 6 consistent footwear pieces, inspired by the moodboard and relevant to the selected trend. Both digital illustrations and scanned hand-drawn sketches will be accepted
- Produce renders of each design using the selected colors and materials. Renders may be digital, hand-rendered, 3D, or developed using Artificial Intelligence
