Bring your patterns to digital life

Developed within Clarks’ CAD/CAM departments in the 70s in order to increase quality and productivity in the manufacturing processes of its factories, the Classic Shoemaster 2D CAD software is still today one of the best known and most used traditional software in footwear companies, because it guarantees the fundamental digital tools to create and develop technical footwear models quickly and in series.

The computerized visualization of the real model you have created and the technical documentation to support the model that the software itself produces, allows you to adopt a practical and effective method of designing the shoe, which does not replace your model by hand, but simplifies the reproduction of that same model and helps you in the inevitable corrections of the external and internal components of the upper.

Is this the right course for you?

The 2D CAD for Shoe Pattern Making course is dedicated to those who already have a basic knowledge of footwear pattern making, and in particular:

Junior pattern makers

Junior pattern makers who want to implement their knowledge of traditional pattern making techniques with digital tools.

Designers who want to understand how 2D digital pattern making works, with a simple and intuitive approach to a tool widely used in the industry.

Digital creatives

Anyone who knows other modeling software and is interested in extending their knowledge to a classic, effective software dedicated to footwear.

Follow our expert’s suggestions and point your education towards your goals

of the course

Under the guidance of the Arsutoria School teachers, at the end of the Arsutoria School 2D CAD modeling course you will have understood how to use the 2D Classic Shoemaster software, which will allow you to design model shirts suitable for digitization, to obtain components of the shoe such as uppers, linings, reinforcements, templates, insoles, heel wraps, etc..etc …
You will learn theory and rules in the application of size development through the software and export the models to the cutting machines. If you attend the face-to-face course you will have the opportunity to experiment with the cutting of patterns and materials of the uppers.

Digital upper making
Your handmade upper can be digitized, through scanning, correction and implementation of technical lines
Obtain the pieces of the footwear

The learning path of the software provides for a gradual learning of its functions. Carefully followed and monitored by the teachers, you will obtain the pieces for the upper, from the simplest to the most complex and the creation of the digital upper.

Exporting pieces for machine cutting

A great efficiency advantage of the 2D CAD software, which you can learn during the course, is the digital export of the pieces to the cutting table: from the cutting of the patterns to that of the materials for making the shoe. If you attend in-class you will also have the opportunity to practice cutting patterns and materials with the machinery supplied by the school laboratory.

Principles and application of the rules for the development of sizes

One of the most popular features in the world of footwear companies and the reason for the continuing success of this forty-year-old software is the possibility of developing the sizes of the various footwear components quickly and safely. In this phase you will learn the theory and rules for realizing the size development used in most manufacturing companies.
