This path includes
Starting from proportion, perspective, and technical precision on paper, students work across the main shoe styles—pumps, Derby and Oxford, moccasins, sandals, boots, and sneakers—then move into Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and VizCom AI to turn hand-drawn concepts into polished renderings, experimenting with materials, sole constructions, and color combinations without losing creative momentum.
With design skills in place, students analyze international trends and brand case histories, then plan a collection framework: product categories, pricing, trend vs. volume balance, carry-over, and material or color variants—with particular attention to material choices that define footwear identity. The module ends with an individual collection project guided by Arsutoria professors.
Students study last types and modification operations—first on wooden prototypes, then in Rhinoceros 3D for CAD-based last and sole design. The course builds the technical foundation needed to independently design a 3D sole and communicate effectively with product development teams and suppliers.
