Bag making course – Summer class

During this 2-week journey we shall take the student through the discovery of the sample making process of a bag.

We shall discover together how a style is born and how a sample is made. We shall find out the “behind the scene” of this prominent category of product of the luxury industry.

The program will focus on the understanding of the different existing constructions, the finishings, edge finishings, assembling techniques and main reinforcements used (different kinds of microfibers and fabrics).

Key features of the bag making course:

• Learning the secrets of how bags are made: a solid basis on how bags are technically developed. A deep dive into materials, components and constructions.
• Understanding patterns: students will learn the characteristics of patterns for the styles that they shall develop
• Bag Making: Master the process of sample making: students will complete the program by developing their own baguette (box construction) and small bucket (inside out construction) by learning the processes of leather cutting, gluing, assembling, stitching, polishing and finishing with the support of Sample room technicians. Our sample room is fully equipped with all machineries needed to develop all kinds of bags.
